Enclosed Generator Sets refer to the power generation system with the addition of a special weatherproof or sound attenuated enclosures to the open generator set to make it have the function of rain-proof or sound reduction.
The open generator set is enclosed for weatherproof by a special enclosure, and the sound insulation material can be adhered to the inner wall of the outer casing according to the user's requirements to have the function of noise reduction. However, there must be an air inlet and outlet to facilitate the intake and cooling of the generator set.
Classification of Enclosed Generator Sets:
According to different types of prime movers, they can be divided into the following two categories:
1. Enclosed Engine Generator Sets:
1) According to their usage, the Enclosed engine generator set can be classified into three categories:
■ Containerized Generator Sets, including standard and soundproof container type generator sets;
■ Soundproof Generator Sets, also known as Silent generator sets. Mostly small high-speed diesel or natural gas generator sets;
■ Rainproof Generator Sets, mainly refer to small high-speed diesel generator sets. Suitable for outdoor construction scenarios.
2) According to engine speed, It can be classified into two categories:
■ High-speed Generator Sets, the engine speed n > 1000 r/min;
■ Medium-speed Generator Sets, the engine speed between 720 ≤ n ≤ 1000 r/min.
2. Enclosed Gas Turbine Generator Sets:
■ Gas turbine generator sets below 3MW/unit can be configured as Containerized generator sets;
■ Gas turbine generator sets with a capacity of less than 50MW/unit, Its can usually be equipped with enclosed enclosures to provide wind and rain resistance or noise reduction.
